Host a Language Student With Us

Host families play a vital role in providing our students with a warm, welcoming home away from home. We carefully pair students with local families in Hastings, St Leonards, and Bexhill to ensure a rewarding experience for everyone.

A Rewarding Experience

For The Whole Family

Hosting offers unique cultural exchange - often the most memorable part of a student's visit. You'll share everyday moments, learn about different cultures, and build meaningful connections that often last long after students return home.

What we expect from
our
Host Families

A Home Away From Home

Provide a warm, safe and welcoming environment. For many students, this first time away from home becomes a lifelong memory that inspires them to continue their English studies.

Half Board and Full Board

Students require breakfast and dinner on half board, plus a packed lunch on full board - with attention given to dietary requirements

and allergies.

Accommodation

Each student will need their own bed, storage space for clothes and access to bathroom facilities. All accommodation should be clean, comfortable and suitable for a

young person.

Time With Students

Treat your students as family members chat about their classes or places they have visited
and encourage English practice in a natural and supportive way.

Evening Meals

Include students in family dinners whenever possible and offer them the same meals as the household. Sharing meals helps students

feel at home.

Transport

Pick-up on arrival and
drop-off on first day and departure is required for Language Holiday groups. Twice daily transport is
required for school groups.

Compensation for Host Families

Host families receive compensation to help cover the expenses of hosting, including meals, accommodation and transportation when required.

International Students

All Year Round

We welcome students aged 11-17 from France, Spain and the Czech Republic throughout the year. Students stay between 2 and 13 nights.

We typically place up to 2 students per household for Language Holiday groups and up to 4 students per household for school groups.

Hosting Adults Only

Prefer hosting adults? We also place teachers and group leaders with host families, though placements are less frequent. You'll still provide meals and transport as with younger students.

How to apply to become a
host family with us:

"I hosted students for years and loved it. The students were our family whilst they stayed with us. They watched football matches with my husband and tried to find their favourite band on Alexa. It was just nice having younger people in the house for fun and a bit more lively atmosphere. We’re retired now, but I did it for years, whilst still working too!"

Miriam, 2025

"Hippolyte and Joseph left the room in the cleanest state I have ever seen from students,
emptying rubbish outside without being asked, folding all the sheets and blankets, it was so helpful and such a nice surprise! They were curious and friendly, and also got on well with the 2 Czech students we had here, playing basketball together in the garden and speaking in
English between them, If they ever rebooked in future I would be happy to host them again."

Wendy, 2025

"Good communication channels between School organisers and host families. Very well organised. Very welcoming, friendly and approachable. Good variation of activities and food on offer to students. A nice balance between learning and outdoor activities. The perfect recipe for a happy host family! Would highly recommend them!"
